Trials And Results: High Fermentable Diets, Antibiotic Free (ABF)

Our research project with West Texas A&M University (WTAMU) evaluated the effects of replacing a traditional natural based mineral supplement with ProTect C in a U.S corn based feeding program. The trial measured the effects of ProAgni’s ProTect C on animal health, production metrics and carcase characteristics of Akaushi-crossbred cattle.

Although ProTect C was developed with high rumen buffering for use in grain diets with high concentrations of readily available starch and less fiber than U.S. feedlot diets, the study demonstrated that ProTect C in a U.S corn based diet as a replacement for a traditional mineral supplement resulted in similar feedlot performance and carcass characteristics when fed to Akaushi-crossbred cattle.
