ProAgni is a signatory to the UN SDG Partnership Platform

Our commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

We contribute to ethical and sustainable animal production that accelerates the removal of ingested antibiotics and decreases agriculture’s contribution to the emergence of drug resistant bacteria in humans. We are committed to supporting the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

ProAgni supports the UN SDG goals and has a UN SDG Partner Project SDG Action 43468 by reducing methane production, and removing antibiotics (which affect soil sequestration) and will continue working towards helping the industry reach the 2030 climate goals.

UN SDG 2 Zero Hunger
The food and agriculture sectors offer key solutions for development and are central for hunger and poverty eradication. Livestock provide a readily digestible protein and essential nutrients source and can make critical contributions to ending hunger and improving food security. ProAgni products reduce time required for livestock to reach maturity, providing healthier, faster food source without the need for antibiotics (Bovatec-free & Rumensin-free)

UN SDG 3 Good Health & Wellbeing
Ensuring healthy lives and promoting the well-being for all at all ages is essential to sustainable development. This year alone over 700,000 people around the world will lose their lives due to infections that can’t be treated with antibiotics. About 80% of the world’s use of antibiotics ends up in animal feeds. ProAgni has pledged to fight AMR with the following organizations: Antibiotic Guardian, CDC, Antimicrobial Resistance Fighter Coalition

ProAgni supports UN SDG 3 Good Health and Well-being removing antibiotics (which affect AMR) and reducing methane emissions and will continue working towards helping the industry reach the 2030 climate goals

UN SDG 6 Clean Water and Sanitation
Clean, accessible water for all is an essential part of the world we want to live in. ProAgni products decrease livestock production times therefore reducing the amount of water needed, and by using good antibacterial stewardship, the potential for antibiotics to flow into our waterways is greatly reduced.

UN SDG 8 Decent Work and Economic Growth
According to the FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations), Livestock contribute to national economics worldwide. Livestock production accounts for an average of 30% of agricultural production and is a key economic factor in developing countries and provides key jobs. ProAgni products reduce induction times for livestock, providing better rumen health without the need for antibiotics, reducing costs, and reducing the amount of water needed to produce livestock and usually at no additional cost. All have a positive financial impact for farmers.

UN SDG 12 Responsible Consumption and Production
The ProAgni ProTect range addresses the challenge of producing more with less, while balancing consumption. ProTect decreases Livestock production times therefore reducing the amount of water needed. It also improves rumen health, improves the birth rates, reduces the need for antibiotics and decreases the risk of animal loss.
ProAgni supports UN SDG 12 Responsible Consumption and Production by reducing methane production, and removing antibiotics (which affect soil sequestration) and will continue working towards helping the industry reach the 2030 climate goals

UN SDG 13 Climate Action
Greenhouse gas emissions from ruminants are largely a by-product of inefficient feed conversion. At ProAgni, we are leveraging our experience to develop probiotics that further improve feed conversion and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
ProAgni supports UN SDG 13 Climate Action by reducing methane production, and removing antibiotics (which affect soil sequestration) and will continue working towards helping the industry reach the 2030 climate goals

UN SDG 14 Life Below Water
ProAgni contributes by reducing the impact of livestock on marine ecosystems. By supporting sustainable growth of livestock, we reduce the risk of overfishing. By promoting better rumen function through our ProTect range (Bovatec-free & Rumensin-free), we also reduce nutrient runoff and leaching from livestock waste, which deteriorates water ways.
ProAgni supports UN SDG 14 Life below Water by removing antibiotics (which leach into the waterways) and reducing methane emissions, and will continue working towards helping the industry reach the 2030 climate goals

UN SDG 15 Life on Land
When we enhance the provision of ecosystem services through sustainable grassland management and improvements in feed-use efficiency, we help to sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, halt and reverse land degradation, and halt biodiversity loss. The ProAgni ProTect range has been documented to improve feed efficiency in sheep and cattle. Click here for more information

ProAgni’s UN SDG Partnership Platform
ProAgni has a UN SDG Partnership Platform, “Transforming Livestock Sector: Reduce carbon emissions, remove the requirement for non-therapeutic antibiotics (AMR) and reduce resources required.” Working with CSIRO and the University of NSW we are tackling multiple issues within the UN SDGs.
