ProAgni was founded in 2016 by a group of farmers and scientists deeply concerned about the sustainability of farming. Our inspiration came from a seemingly unexpected source: kangaroos.
While attending a conference, an idea was sparked. Kangaroos are the gold standard in feed efficiency, with next to zero methane emissions. These marsupials have thrived for centuries in the harsh environment of outback Australia. Through evolution, they have developed the most efficient digestion system of all red meat animals, producing minimal methane as a byproduct.
This realization fueled the mission to mimic the kangaroo’s digestive efficiency in livestock. By increasing feed efficiency in ruminant animals like cattle, ProAgni is reducing days on feed, methane output, and the cost to gain for farmers.
